A Hidden Message in Cuteness :-)

I came across this picture of Aidan from his first visit to the pumpkin farm in 2007. Had to post it because it made me smile and I thought someone else could use a smile, as well. :-)

There is so much in life that can make us frown. But it's the simple things or the simplistic things that we need to allow to punch holes in our personal darkness. We can choose to cling to the decomposing corpse of our past hurts or we can choose to bury that thing once and for all, leave the cemetery of regret and LIVE. We can attempt to dress it in fine clothes, prop it up in a chair and spray some air freshener on it....... but it's still dead and toxic. It's hard to "run the race set before you" with a corpse strapped to your back. It's difficult to "fight the good fight of faith" with your weapon in one hand and your arm wrapped around the waist of maggoty dead weight.

My favorite feel-good song lately is "Chicken Fried" by the Zack Brown Band.
"Funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most
Not where you live, what you drive or the price tag on your clothes
There's no dollar sign on a peace of mind
This I've come to know"

More on this subject later.... gotta go pick up Wonder Teen from school. :-)
