Valentine's Day :-)

Another old post that I forgot to publish.  I love the pictures of my kiddos. :-)  From 14 February 2010:

Well, the big V didn't start off too well.  But I rolled with it, shed a few tears and pushed through.  See, I woke up in so much pain... a nerve must've been pinched in my neck or something.  I had to keep my arm pressed against my body because when I moved it, pain would shoot up into my temple & down through my shoulder blade and all the way down my arm.  And when I say "pain".... ACH!  PAIN!  Mix that with the overall muscle pain that came about as a result of my visit to the chiropractor.  Apparently, I was holding a lot of tension in my body and delayed my adjustment for too long.  Imagine that?  I was holding a lot of tension in my body.  HELLO? I'm a woman.  That's what we do, thank you very much. :-)  Well, I got worked over, head to toe.  And whoa nellie.....it felt GOOD. lol   She even worked on my hands and arms, adjusting my wrists and fingers and massaging them to give the nerves "room to breathe".   This was all AFTER the physical therapy part..... electric stimulation, heat, power sander :-), rollers, highlights, pedicure... lol   Nah, I'm just playin'.  Just checking to see if y'all were paying attention. :-)  I did get the first 4 but when I reread it, it made me giggle.  :-)  Anyway, I think my body is still trying to recover from all that action.  You know, it's been awhile since it's seen any action.  teeheehee

So, my V-day started out in pain.  I had to go to work.  I couldn't call off because I had lost 2 days last week because the nerves in my hand were all pinched and curling up my hands. When I told my work leader that I couldn't even brush my hair, she said they needed me in there and she'd just brush my hair for me. lol  I went into work yesterday, broke down and took a neurontin, which I've only ever taken once before because it's the "big guns".  Worked pretty good.  I was able to do my job.  It turned out to be a fairly decent day.  Had a lot of laughs with my coworkers.  Practiced my Spanish with my Latina coworkers.

Anyway, back to valentine's day.  Normally, we have our V-Day traditions but with me working, things had to be adapted.  Instead of the traditional spaghetti dinner and pink milk, I ordered Pizza Hut...pizza, breadsticks, cinnamon sticks and sweet tea.  We put blankets on the floor and had a picnic inside. :-)  I gave them each a Whitman's sampler heart.  We had so much fun laughing....I mean laughing HARD about everything.  We also watched the movie, "Click" with Adam Sandler.  The ending really made me think about the brevity of life and how we shouldn't waste an opportunity to really LOVE those we love.  Find out what speaks love to them.....and SPEAK. :-)  (Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Josiah wasn't with us this Valentine's day because he was making dinner at Marquis's house for his sweetheart (Josiah's sweetheart, not Marquis sweetheart. lol  Actually, they both made dinner for their dates. :-) )
