I was baking a pumpkin pie for my baby girl's birthday today. That's what she likes to have for her birthday cake since her birthday falls on the first day of Autumn. I realized that this was going to be the first birthday that her Daddy wouldn't be celebrating with her (except for birthday #1 because he was already in Alaska before us). I was thinking about how I usually have to hide one of the pumpkin pies from him and his baby girl because they are both pumpkin pie JUNKIES. Then lo and behold, there he was at our front door....all the way from Alabama. Shock is an understatement. Olivia was absolutely ECSTATIC! They have been playing with him all day and he ordered pizza for lunch. Josiah and I went to Chapel and left the other kids here since their Daddy is only going to be here for today.
Casey, Miss Teri and the kids came over to sing happy birthday. Then we had an impromptu dance party in the den. Aidan climbed up on the hearth of the fire place which apparently has become his new stage. It was a lot of fun. The boys did a sort of "push ups" challenge....like a dance off. First, the Daddy did a certain push up, then Josiah, then one of the other boys. It was so funny and we laughed a lot, a very pleasant change.
