One year ago today, my friend, Jeff Stiver, passed away from a heart attack at age 39. He thought he had bad indigestion and didn't want to call 911. Despite his loving wife's efforts, he died in her arms. The image of seeing her beloved, her soul mate, her knight in shining armor, die in her arms haunts my sweet friend, Sharon Joy, to this day. She has flashbacks and most of the time doesn't want to live. She beats herself up, thinking she could have done more. Her faith that was once strong is barely there anymore. They have 5 beautiful teen children that keep her going, sometimes just barely though. She is a strong woman but HE was HER strength. He was an amazing man that was most definitely the hero of that family.
Their love for each other and their relationship was a rare thing. The type of thing most people only dream of. It took them both many years to find each other and they were blessed with 7 years together. Please pray for my friend and their children. They are heart broken. The oldest son, his father's namesake, has forsaken the family and moved away. This family is my family. I have known them for almost 2 decades. My heart breaks for them.
Please remember the Stiver/Romeo family today as they comfort each other in the memory of the passing of their husband and father. Thank you.

Oh dear... this is so heartbreaking...
I always try to avoid thinking of how it could feel if my actual prince charming left this world now... it's so scarry... he IS our family heroe, for me and for our 3 children.
I deeply think about your friend and her children, and sincerely hope she'll get a little better in the future.
Life brought me some hard challenges, I too lost my 1st husband 9 years ago, and if we never forget, we can turn to new things, sometimes...
i'm so sorry for your friend's loss - i cannot imagine how she must feel. i will definitely pray for her and her children.

What a sad, sad story. I'm so sorry for your friend and her family; I'm sure that loss has been so devastating for them. I will say a prayer that this first year was the worst and that time will help continue to heal them.
I remember when this happened last year. I will pray for her . . what a loss to bear.
