Sooooo.....I went to the McCain rally last night at the Coliseum (the CROWN Coliseum, not to be confused with the one where they turn the lions on the Christians....). It was awesome.

It was good to get out to the rally and redirect my thoughts onto a bigger picture (except I think I saw "the man's" girlfriend, Point 5....but that's a whole 'nother blog post. Geez! Let's just say that if it WAS her....I'm not bothered anymore. Not at all. lol) Josiah saw that McCain was going to be in Fayetteville and asked me to order tickets. Casey went with us. There was a special seating section behind the podium for military, active duty and retired, and military families. That was on one whole side of the coliseum and it was PACKED. We had to sit on the other side but we were facing the podium, so that was good. Hank Williams, Jr., performed, too. That was a nice treat....a free Hank, Jr., mini concert. :-)
All in all, the main message was about restoring the American Dream, protecting our ass...ets :-), hard work, fighting the good fight, defending our borders, courage under fire, "cleaning house" (reducing non-productive govt. programs), etc......NOT the SOCIALISTIC society that Obama and Biden have in mind for us (redistributing wealth? are you f***ing serious?!) (yeah, like SOCIALISM has a been SO SUCCESSFUL in the countries that have embraced it!) and NOT the WEAKENED MILITARY or BORDERS or BECOMING BED FELLOWS WITH THE ENEMY they seem to have in store.
And don't even get me started on the perils planned for the unborn. It makes me so sick to my stomach to think about the Freedom of Choice Act being one of the first things Obama said he'd sign into law if he became president. I shudder to think of the babies denied post natal care and being "put away" somewhere to die. I am sickened when I think of partial birth abortion. And yes, I don't agree that a rape victim should be exempt. I used to be an administrator at the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Baltimore. There were women/girls that had been traumatized by rape that came in for counseling. They were damaged and scarred emotionally, psychologically and often physically. Some chose to carry the babies and give them up for adoption because of their own pro-life convictions. Those were the ones who were able to recover more fully from their tragedies because they gave life to ANOTHER INNOCENT VICTIM. There was a sense of getting back the POWER that was taken from them. They felt better about themselves. The ones who chose to abort (and I would never be harsh with them, it is such a hard decision to make and they were so hurt and really needed TLC), would have a double tragedy to recover from....as if one isn't tragic enough.
And bottom line is that ONLY GOD can CREATE LIFE. So, if a life is planted....God put it there...and HE sees the big picture, not just what's happening in the moment....He sees down the road where it will all fall in place in His grander plan. And I have learned from experience, if He creates a life in you, He has the wherewithal to take care of you both and supply all of your needs....no matter how dire the circumstances.
