Baby Girl got baptized today! And yes, I cried. :-) It was her decision from beginning to end. It started the last Sunday in August. I was talking to someone at Chapel and she kept saying, "Momma, I need to talk to you". I said, "Hold on, Livvy, Momma's talking" and she persisted. Then she blurted out, "Momma, I want to ask Jesus into my heart!" Whoa! Stop the presses. I knew she had been contemplating it for a long time but I wanted to let a little time go by to make sure it was something she really understood. She sure did. The chaplain that I was talking to talked to her and led her in prayer. It was awesome! He gave her one of the Chapel's paperback ACU-covered Bibles and I wrote the date in it.
It wasn't an emotional decision. It was something she really thought about and made up her mind to do. And those of you who know Miss Livvy Lou, know that when she makes up her strong-willed mind, she won't rest until she gets the job done. lol For a couple of days, she told anyone who would listen that she was a Christian now. She even told little brother, Liam, "you need to become a Christian". :-)
Shortly after, one Sunday, they announced that they were having a baptism. She came up to me and asked me to sign her up. I asked her if she understood what it meant and she did. She remembered big brother, Josiah, getting baptized last February. So, today was the big day. Yes, a proud Momma moment indeed.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away and behold, all things have become new" II Cor. 5:17

This is just the greatest thing all day for me. . . .I've got my stresses, my worries, and other trivial things.
But THIS??! This is just the best thing ever.
I'm so proud of you Olivia!!!
Awww, indeed a special Mom moment. And a reminder of what it's all about...
Give Olivia a hug for me. LOL, better not tell her it's from strange lady on the internet, though ;)
