Thank You, Mr. Wackenhut Guard

"Stay safe, keep the faith and don't let them grind you down today. Have a nice day."

Every day, I go through the gate to come back on Post. Routine, show i.d., say thank you, maybe a couple of other words (usually about how the Baltimore Ravens are doing, after they see my license plate). But this morning, when I approached the guard (from the Wackenhut company), he tipped his hat to me, said, "Morning, Ma'am" and then after scanning my i.d., said, "Stay safe, keep the faith and don't let them grind you down today. Have a nice day." Caught me off guard and I hesitated. I said, "thank you. I needed that today." And I had a smile on my face going down the road.

So, thank you, Mr. Wackenhut Guard, for breaking out of the norm. You made my day. :-)
